To begin with, we will start out with visits to two key iconic landmarks in Lhasa; namely, the Potala Palace and the Jokhang temple. As we travel to Shigatse city, the second-largest town and the traditional capital of Tsang province of Tibet, we will stop by the Yamdrok Lake and the Karo La Glacier, to sink in with their tranquillity and majesty.
Making most of our time in Shigatse, we will pay a visit to Tashi Lhunpo monastery, the largest Buddhist monastery in the Tsang province or the west-central Tibet. We will then journey north to the Everest Base Camp, to appreciate an up-close view of the world’s highest peak, the Mt Everest. From there, this amazing journey will take us to Lake Manasarovar, considered very sacred by Tibetans Buddhist, Hindus, and Jains. We will then undertake a grand 3-day trek around Kailash, deeply numinous and the most sacred peak on the planet.
The last part of the journey will be a visit to the ruins of the ancient Kingdom of Guge, located in the far western Tibet, which are remarkable sites for archaeologists and the like to explore crumbling monastery walls and cave complexes.
In short, great culture, memorable trekking, stunning landscapes and more in the remote western Tibet, and the cultural feel you will experience on this tour will be amazing and mind-blowing.

Travel Gear:
Upon joining, each participant will be sent a list of required and recommended gear for this journey that they will be responsible for.
Accommodation:
In Lhasa, Gyantse, and Shigatse, you will be staying in a comfortable and pleasant boutique or 3-star Tibetan-owned hotels. At Everest Base Camp, accommodation will be either simple tent hotels or basic guesthouses. In Saga, Lake Manasarovar and along the trek around Mt. Kailash, accommodations will be very simple, as these areas are very remote and poor. Guesthouses have no heating, but plenty of blankets. Toilets are usually outside and are not always clean. Showers are often unavailable or are available at a local shower house that is not attached to the hotel. Hotel upgrades available are in Lhasa upon request.
Eligibility:
Participants must be in good health and physically fit to be able to spend each day walking around towns, villages, and monasteries. Most of this tour will take place in mountainous terrain between 3600 meters and 5200 meters (11,800 feet to 17,000 feet) above sea level. The 3-day trek around Mt. Kailash is 52 kilometres long and will take 3 days to complete. This trek is beautiful but is quite demanding as the high pass rises to 5630 meters (18,465 feet). You will spend 3 nights in Lhasa for altitude acclimatization before going above 3600 meters. Ascent will be slow and gradual along the way from Lhasa to Everest Base Camp and on to Mt. Kailash.
**NB: Instead of returning to Lhasa on day 18th, you can go to the China/Tibet-Nepal border and exit Tibet from there (If the border between Tibet and Nepal is open).
