How To Get To Lhasa, Tibet: Basically there are three main ways for visitors to get to Lhasa. These are flight, train, and overland. Taking a flight is the most straightforward way of getting to Lhasa. Visitors who choose this option will land at the Lhasa Gonggar Airport. It is 79 kilometres (60 miles) away from Lhasa and takes just under an hour. The train journey from Xining to Lhasa offers the most breath-taking scenery on the Qinghai-Tibetan plateau, the journey takes approximately 21 hours to reach Lhasa with covering of 1972Kms.
